# What if Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria Conflict? Which Criteria take Precedence?

## If there is a conflict between your inclusion and exclusion criteria, the exclusion criteria will take precedence. This means a worker on both an exclusion and inclusion list, would not be eligible for your study.

To avoid conflict between Inclusion and Exclusion criteria, it is best to avoid using any exclusion criteria when you intend to Include workers. When you use an Include list, the only workers eligible for your study are the ones on your Include list. In most situations, this makes exclusion criteria unnecessary.
